UW–Madison recently announced the cancellation of all face-to-face summer non-credit programs and activities. This difficult decision means that PLACE will unfortunately have to cancel our upcoming in-person youth writing programs (Young Writers Camp, High School Writers Camp, and Rise Up & Write).
If you have already completed payment for one of our camps, you will receive a refund issued back to the original method of payment within 4-6 weeks. If you have not already completed payment, no additional action is required on your end. Please direct any questions regarding payments and/or refunds to email@example.com.
While we are incredibly disappointed to have to cancel in-person programs for summer 2020, we are designing virtual offerings for this spring and summer, and we plan on coming back strong as ever in 2021. In the meantime, please stay tuned for more information about our online programming for young writers. For example, we invite you and your writer(s) to join us for our daily writing prompts on our Greater Madison Writing Project Young Writers Camp Facebook page and our Instagram. Find inspiration, write, and share writing and photos of you and your kids’ writing. Writing prompts will continue to be posted as long as schools are closed.
This is a challenging time for everyone, and we hope the writing opportunities we are able to offer can give you and your young writer something fun and engaging to do, create chances to write and play together, and build an online community that supports any and all aspiring youth writers and families.
